VELUX roof windows are one of the most trusted skylight systems available. Designed for performance, energy efficiency and long-term reliability, they provide natural light, improved ventilation and exceptional durability.
There are several types of blinds available for skylights, each designed to suit different needs and room uses. Options include blackout blinds for bedrooms, light-filtering blinds for living spaces, thermal blinds to improve insulation, and even insect screen blinds for added comfort when windows are open.
Skylight blinds are specifically designed to control light, heat, and privacy in roof windows. They use tensioned side channels or wire systems to keep the fabric in place at any angle, preventing sagging and ensuring a clean, secure fit.
They can provide effective blackout for better sleep, help regulate temperature by reducing heat loss in winter and limiting solar gain in summer, and protect furnishings from UV damage. They’re a practical and versatile solution that enhances both comfort and efficiency in any space with a skylight.
Costs vary depending on the skylight type, roof structure and installation requirements. We provide free surveys and quotations throughout Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.

Roof windows are generally installed within reach and can often be opened. Skylights are a broader category that includes roof windows, lanterns, domes and flat glass systems.
Modern skylights and roof windows are highly energy efficient and can help improve natural light and ventilation while maintaining thermal performance.
VELUX products are widely recognised for quality, reliability and long-term performance, making them one of the most popular choices for homeowners.
Most roofs can accommodate a skylight, although suitability depends on roof pitch, structure and available space.
In most cases, skylights can be installed under permitted development rights. However, requirements can vary depending on the property and location. We can advise during your survey.
