Why the customer contacted us...
The customer contacted us due to the fact that their ground floor flat roof was leaking. Without hesitation, we booked Charlotte and Chris in for a survey.
What was wrong with the roof?
There were many issues with this roof, such as damaged flashing and the parapet covered in bitumen that seemed to also be damaged and peeling away. There were also a few cosmetic issues such as the artificial grass and mismatched part of the brick wall.
How we fixed the issue.
We removed the parapets first, revealing the roof joists underneath that were completely rotten, so we had to replace those before installing the subdeck. We also found out that the back of the house was completely unsupported, with the lintel being cut and the bricks resting on the roof covering. We decided to install a new steel to the back of the property, insulating underneath it, as well as replacing the bricks to match the wall better. Then we moved onto installing the warm roof system, starting off with the vapour control layer before installing the insulation, OSB board and a membrane of choice, which in this case was Restec Flexitec 2020. We finished this roof off with some new guttering and fascia.
The finished result.
The new roof is such an improvement from how it looked like before. It is seamless and watertight, we are happy with the final product, and so are our customers:
“JR roofing did a fantastic job of our new flat roof. We highly recommend Josh and the team. These guys are extremely professional, turn up exactly when they say they will and do an incredible job. We had numerous hurdles to overcome with our roof, including previous owners builders sawing through a wooden lintel holding the back of our house up. Josh was quick to tell us the problem, explained everything and came up with a solution asap. We are highly grateful to them all. Top guys, top job. Thank you again. Charlotte & Chris”
